How we work

FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY

Packaging Designers

Food packaging is a precise and detailed area. The photography must comply with the client’s design guidelines while conveying the quality and freshness of the food. Most food shoots for packaging are undertaken in my central Dublin studio, where controlled lighting and full kitchen facilities are available. I have worked on many leading brands and enjoy the collaborative process of photographer, designer, client and food stylist working together to create images that will jump off the supermarket shelf.

Hotels and Restaurants:

Hotels & Restaurants often require interior and exterior images as well as shots of their best dishes. Prior to shooting I would discuss with the client what look & feel they want to convey in the images of their premises and their food. I would also advise on which menu items will photograph best, as what tastes great does not always make the best shot. Usually the chef prepares the food and it is photographed in the restaurant. Planning and preparation are vital to prevent disruption to business and to get the most out of the day.

Food Producers & Distributors

From the very big food producers and distributers to the smallest artisan cheese makers, all require pictures of the highest quality for today’s competitive market. This area of photography includes shooting food production at the source, whether it be in a big processing plant or a small family bakery. Sometimes clients require images of themselves or staff working with the products they produce.
